McAleer & Rushe are specialists design and build contractors, developers, asset managers and investors in multi–sector mixed–use schemes. Established in 1967, they have grown to become one of the largest and most respected companies within the construction industry in the UK.
The Problem
McAleer & Rushe were undergoing a digital transformation process in their Cookstown headquarters and required assistance to reduce their reliance on paper documents. With space at a premium, the company were struggling to facilitate the effective storage and retrieval of all the paper documentation they were receiving.
What We Did
Mallon helped McAleer & Rushe to implement DocuWare into their business. DocuWare is a cloud–based document management solution that helps to convert company documents into valuable resources and business intelligence insights.
Alongside the installation of DocuWare, we also scanned a simple selection of their documents. This consisted of 10 boxes of loose–leaf single page invoices. These were mainly A4 in size and were scanned at 200dpi in PDF format.
The resulting images were then passed through OCR processing to create a fully searchable text document. The accuracy of the OCR process had an output that exceeded 97%. The final scanned images were then imported into DocuWare for McAleer & Rushe colleagues to utilise and to help train them ahead of the system going live.
