Making Sense of Maps TED Talk

Have you ever struggled to make sense of public transport maps in a new or foreign city and why are they so much easier to understand in my own city? Well, this interesting Talk by Aris Venetikidis at TEDx Dublin 2012 helps to explain how we move around a city based on the maps we draw in our minds. He attempts to explore what can be learnt from people’s mental maps with an aim of producing better real life maps. In the talk he takes on the notorious Dublin bus map and creates a new version more closely linked to the way we think. Do you think his version is better or do you prefer the simplistic maps currently in use?
