AGI Event

Fri 27th May 2011

It was great to see how some public authorities in NI are using GIS for their Land and Asset management when we attended the recent AGINI ‘Utilising GIS for More Efficient Land and Asset Management’ event in the University of Ulster campus in Belfast last Wednesday. It was especially interesting to view the demo of the NI Housing Executive’s Land Terrier system in action as we are coming to the end of our updates capture project for this system. As someone who has been involved in the capture of this data I found it really rewarding and interesting to see how it will be used by the NIHE on a daily basis.

As well as the NIHE presentation, representatives from the University of Ulster and LPSNI (formally OSNI) both gave very informative and enjoyable presentations. All in all a very useful afternoon, I hope the NI group of the AGI continue to organise these events which are so important for the development of the GIS industry in Northern Ireland.
