Mallon Technology completes Presbyterian Historical Society Project

Mallon Technology is pleased to announce the successful completion of a project undertaken for the Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland.

The Presbyterian Society was set up to promote the knowledge of, and advance public education in the history of the churches of the Presbyterian order in Ireland. The society, formed in 1907, is actively involved in the collection and preservation of historic materials and records relating to any Presbyterian Church within Ireland.

Earlier in the year, Mallon Technology won the contract to digitally capture 5 of the Presbyterian order’s pre–1900 journals, the earliest of which dated from 1829. The journals consisted of 43 volumes in total, amounting to approximately 17,000 pages. The volumes were captured using our bespoke scanner before being quality checked to ensure the output was a fully readable and articulate image.

The completion of the project has allowed the Presbyterian Society to open up their content for the first time to the wider public. By ensuring their content is fully searchable the society are facilitating a wide range of different research types including family, local, historical and academic research.
