Mallon at AGI NI 2026: Connected Intelligence, The Future of Place

This Thursday, 25 June, Mallon will be heading to Riddel Hall at Queen’s University Belfast for the AGI Northern Ireland Annual Conference — Northern Ireland’s flagship event for the geospatial community.

This year’s theme, Connected Intelligence: The Future of Place, looks at how geospatial data, AI, and data science are converging to solve real–world problems, from smarter cities to environmental protection.

We’re proud to be sponsoring and exhibiting at this year’s conference, and even prouder that one of our colleagues will be taking to the stage.

On the Stand: Earth Observation and PPR

Our stand this year will put the spotlight on two areas of our work that sit right at the heart of the conference theme:

  • Earth Observation – using satellite and remote sensing data to monitor and understand the landscape, from land cover and environmental change to risk and resource management
  • Property Portfolio Register – built to help organisations manage and make sense of their property and land assets through a single, structured platform

If you’re attending, drop by the stand. We’d love to talk through how these tools are being put to work and hear about the challenges you’re tackling in your own organisation.

On the Programme: Michael O’Connor on Agricultural Surface Mapping

We’re delighted that Michael O’Connor, Earth Observation Analyst at Mallon, will be presenting at this year’s conference. His talk, “High–Resolution Artificial Surface Mapping: An Agricultural Context,” explores how high–resolution mapping of artificial surfaces — buildings, hardstanding, infrastructure — can be applied within an agricultural setting, offering a clearer picture of how land is actually being used.

See You There

AGI NI is always a great opportunity to connect with the wider geospatial community across Northern Ireland, and this year’s “Connected Intelligence” theme feels particularly close to the work we do. If you’re going to be at Riddel Hall on Thursday, come find us — we’d love to say hello.
