Mallon Technology Wins Net Zero Project of the Year

We are incredibly proud to announce that Mallon Technology has won Net Zero Project of the Year at the Mid Ulster District Council Business & Environment Awards.

This award recognises organisations that are leading the way toward a greener, more sustainable future, delivering measurable environmental improvements while supporting long–term climate goals. To receive this recognition within our local business community is a significant milestone in our Net Zero journey.

“Winning the Net Zero Project of the Year is a proud moment for our entire team. Our sustainability journey has always been grounded in measurable action — from achieving a 98.7% reduction in Scope 2 emissions to embedding renewable energy and efficiency across our operations. I’m incredibly proud of how the entire company has embraced this challenge, contributing to significant reductions in our operational emissions and supporting our long–term Net Zero commitment. This award recognises the collective effort behind every improvement we’ve made.”Andrew Bennett, Environmental Manager

A Commitment Backed by Measurable Results

Our Net Zero strategy is built on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Using 2021 as our baseline year, we measure and publish our carbon footprint annually to ensure progress is tracked and action is driven by data.

In 2024, our total carbon footprint was 172,552.61 kgCO₂e, remaining below our baseline level despite continued business growth and increased operational activity.

One of our most significant achievements has been a 98.7% reduction in Scope 2 emissions compared to our baseline. Today, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions account for just around 1% of our total footprint, reflecting the impact of our shift to renewable electricity and focused energy efficiency measures.

This demonstrates that carbon reduction and business growth are not mutually exclusive; with the right strategy, they can progress together.

Supporting a Greener Mid Ulster

While we are proud of our own progress, we also recognise our responsibility within the wider community. Through our digital and geospatial solutions, we support organisations, particularly in the public sector, to make better, climate–informed decisions.

By sharing our Net Zero journey openly and transparently, we hope to encourage other businesses across Mid Ulster and beyond to take confident steps toward sustainability.

A Proud Moment

Winning the Net Zero Project of the Year is a testament to our team’s dedication and to our belief that businesses must play an active role in addressing climate change.

We would like to thank Mid Ulster District Council for recognising our efforts and for championing environmental leadership within the district. We also congratulate the other finalists who are contributing to a more sustainable future.

This award is not the end of our journey — it is motivation to go further.

We remain committed to reducing our impact, innovating responsibly, and leading the way toward a low–carbon future.
