We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a project for the data capture of hard copy statistical questionnaires for the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs (DAERA) Statistics and Analytical Services Branch (SASB) in Northern Ireland.
DAERA
DAERA has responsibility for food, farming, environmental, fisheries, forestry and sustainability policy and the development of the rural sector in Northern Ireland. The department assists the sustainable development of the agri–food, environmental, fishing and forestry sectors of the Northern Ireland economy, having regard for the needs of the consumers, the protection of human, animal and plant health, the welfare of animals and the conservation and enhancement of the environment.
The SASB is responsible for a regular programme of surveys that collect data on a range of farm and related activities. The data is used for statistical and administrative purposes.
Project Details
Mallon Technology will be assisting DEFRA’s Statistics and Analytical Services Branch in converting the information entered by farmers on hard copy statistical questionnaires into a digital format for further validation and processing by the department. The captured forms will be processed using Optical Character Recognition to ensure accurate capture of the data.
Over the course of the project Mallon Technology will be required to capture & process over 170,000 individual survey forms.
