Mallon Technology Colleague Joins Trinity College Mentoring Series

Mallon Technology colleague, Ian Hand, has recently joined the Trinity College Dublin (TCD) Alumni–to–Student mentoring series for the academic year ahead.

The mentoring series presents an opportunity for alumni to help students by sharing their experiences and expertise in their respective industry. Support from alumni could take many forms from one–to–one meetings to email or phone chats and are an opportunity for students to gain an insight into the industry sector they wish to work in, receive help with career planning or job interviews and how to successfully transition from student to working life.

Ian will be mentoring a current TCD student to provide them with a greater insight into his role as a GIS and Remote Sensing specialist for Mallon Technology and his experiences working with the GI Industry. Having been with Mallon Technology for 6 years, Ian has worked on a wide range of projects, including, providing consultancy for the lead state agency responsible for Flood Risk Management and the delivery of webinars and industry presentations. It is this experience, that Ian will hope to pass on to the next generation of students who are interested in becoming GIS professionals by taking part in the mentoring series.
