Mallon Technology Awarded Digitisation & Georeferencing Project

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a project to scan, digitally capture & georeference a collection of maps for the Office of Public Works (OPW).

The OPW is the lead state agency for Flood Risk Management in the Republic of Ireland, helping to minimise the impact of flooding through sustainable planning. The mission of the OPW is to use their experience and expertise to provide innovative, effective and sustainable shared services to the public and their clients.

Mallon Technology will be assisting the OPW in digitising a collection of printed Drainage District maps and georeferencing the resulting scans into a combined Drainage District dataset. The collection consists of 171 paper maps to be scanned and and additional 248 scanned maps that need to be georeferenced and included into the database, all of which will be preserved and protected for future use, thanks to our Archival Scanning & Data Capture services.

If you have any unique or historical collections you would like to see preserved or protected for futures use, please get in touch to learn more about how our Document Capture services could assist your society or organisation.
