Mallon Technology to Attend AGI–NI Annual Conference 2017

The AGI–NI annual conference, Northern Ireland’s premiere GI event this year returns once again, bigger and better than ever before. For the first time, the conference will be held in the centre of Belfast at Belfast City Hall which should ensure there will be a fantastic atmosphere for the event.

Coinciding with GIS day celebrations, the conference, hosted by the AGI–NI Regional Group, will provide delegates with the opportunity to learn from industry leading experts and to network with their peers within the GI sector. The conference will feature presentations from leading industry experts, who will discuss the latest innovations and trends within the GI Sector.

Mallon Technology will be in attendance again at this years conference to continue our long held support and association with AGI–NI. We will be exhibiting our latest product and service developments at the conference, including our GIS Services and Remote Sensing expertise as well as the latest Azimap updates.

In support of the AGI–NI conference, the AGI are inviting companies and professionals to submit papers for the opportunity to present at the event. In particular, AGI–NI are looking for original and thought–provoking presentations on the use of GI for public benefit, which fall into one of the four interrelated topics:

  • Data collection and drones
  • Sustainability and Smart Cities
  • Regional and local government and communities
  • Data protection and GDPR within a spatial data context

This year presentations have been split into three different categories:

  • Full presentation – 25 minute speaking slot (20 minute presentation, 5 minutes for Q&A)
  • Lightning talks – 10 minute presentation (Q&A will be held at the end of each round of lightning talks)
  • Poster presentation – A1 or A0 (max) size posters

If you are interested in presenting, AGI–NI invites you to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words, along with the category you wish to present in, to rico.santiago@finance-ni.gov.uk by no later that 5pm on Friday 29th September. Full details of submission requirements can be found on the AGI website.

Good luck to everyone submitting an abstract. We look forward to seeing you at the conference in November!
