Copernicus Presentations to be displayed at INTERGEO

On display this week at the annual INTERGEO conference in Hamburg, Germany will be a video presentation created by our colleague Calvin McCoy.

INTERGEO is the world’s leading innovation platform for the geospatial market. Attracting over 16,500 visitors from more than 100 countries, INTERGEO is one of the most influential and important conferences in the geospatial calendar.

This year, a video presentation put together by Calvin McCoy will be on display at INTERGEO on the Copernicus ECMWF stand. Situated in Hall A4, Booth B4.062, the Copernicus stand will this year by featuring demonstrations of how Copernicus information has actually been used within GIS packages for visualisation, analytical, teaching or other purposes. Alongside Calvin’s video will be a number of use cases for Copernicus data in emergency management, land monitoring, marine environment and climate change.

Calvin’s video presentation demonstrates the use of Sentinel–2 imagery to identify areas of land affected by wildfire scarring. The video is a practical guide that will take you through the procedure of acquiring Sentinel–2 imagery, how to process it and the use of a GIS for analysis. The presentation is focused on an area of Greece which has been affected by wildfire scarring. Watching the video should enable you to replicate the process for yourself in any part of the world that has been captured by Sentinel–2.

If you are unable to make it to INTERGEO this year, then the presentation is available to watch over on our YouTube channel or in the video gallery below. To learn more about our use of Copernicus and Sentinel data make sure to check out our Space Case studies and Remote Sensing services.
