Over the course of December our colleague Ian Hand really got into the festive spirit by attempting his best Santa Claus impersonation, by growing a beard as part of the Decembeard fundraising campaign.
The Decembeard campaign is an annual event which encourages men across Ireland to grow a beard during the month of December to help raise funds for the Men’s Cancer Alliance. The aim of the Men’s Cancer Alliance is to create awareness about men’s cancers, treatments and supports available and to raise funds to create and maintain a number of men’s cancer support initiatives. This year, the Decembeard campaign were raising funds to help beat bowel cancer, the second most common form of cancer in men.
Ian put in a great effort, breaking through the itchy beard phase to make it through to January with a fully formed beard. With the support of his family, friends and colleagues he was able to raise a fantastic €155 for the Men’s Cancer Alliance. Mallon Technology has generously offered to match this amount making the total raised an outstanding €310. A huge well done to Ian on his efforts and thanks to all those who donated and supported Ian during December.
