New Solar Panels Turn Mallon Technology Green

Mallon Technology is excited to announce the completion of an ambitious solar energy project at it’s head office in Cookstown. The company is committed towards a sustainable environmental future as well as the reduction of it’s carbon footprint and has affirmed this with the installation of a solar PV array on the roof of our head office.

Today marks the switch on of the 10kW system that will provide electricity for our operations in Cookstown whilst reducing the amount of harmful emissions that would have otherwise been released into the atmosphere. Our solar system is set to save, each year, the equivalent amount of CO2 as produced by 12,372 miles/year driven by an average passenger vehicle, 1.9 tonnes of waste sent to landfill, the consumption of 12.4 barrels of oil or the carbon sequestered by 137 tree seedlings grown for 10 years. Over the lifespan of our system we will have saved the equivalent amount of CO2 produced as burning 52,106kg of coal, 254,641 miles/year driven by an average passenger vehicle or the carbon sequestered by 2,742 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.

Unfortunately, due to the height of our building and its positioning within the town, our impressive new solar system is not visible from the ground. However, these do provide the perfect conditions for solar generation and will ensure our system produces the optimal amount of electricity out of sight for decades to come. If you would like to view our new system please check out the image gallery below.

Finally we would like to thank That Solar Company for all their hard work in helping to fit our new system in what has been very tricky and challenging winter conditions.
