Not to be out done by their colleagues in Dublin, staff from the Portlaoise office also held a bake sale and an Easter raffle this year to raise much needed funds for two local charities. An impressive array of bakers turned out to produce many mouth watering delights for sale including cupcakes, shortbread, tea cakes, tarts, and scones to name a few. A big attraction of the sale this year was the raffle with the star prize of a luxury Easter egg hamper (pictured below).
There was an impressive turnout at the sale this year, with many people attracted due to the fantastic sights and smells on offer and from the pictures below you can see why. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the bakers a whooping €1013 was raised on the day. All the money that was collected on the day has been donated to the Laois Offlay Families for Autism, a local support group for parents and families of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Cara Rescue dogs, who seek to give neglected and abandoned dogs a second chance at life. Two very worthy causes. Huge congratulations must be given to all those bakers who put in a fantastic effort in returning a wonderful result on the day as well as all those who purchased cakes, buns, biscuits and raffle tickets.
