Mallon Implements Staff Training Program

By Ciara McQuillan, Tuesday 31st January 2012, General

As part of our ongoing commitment staff development, Mallon Technology has recently implemented a comprehensive training program for staff in all departments of the company.

Personnel are an integral part of our company and we know the importance of providing our team with the opportunity to refresh or learn new skills.  Ongoing staff development increases productivity and morale within the team and gives us the competitive advantage that has made the leading supplier of Software, Data capture and Geographical Information services in Ireland.

Sixteen members of our GIS team have taken part in MapInfo training, either an introductory course or refreshing their skills and ten members of the team have attended database training courses which have further enhanced their skills in Microsoft Access.

Ruth McGarvey, Services Team Leader, is currently undertaking Elevate, a Project Management training course.  The program focuses on six key areas; Business Awareness & Commercial Acumen; Project Management; Team Working, Time, Priority and Stress Management; Measuring Success (Personal Development Planning) and Performance Management.

Planned training for 2012 includes courses in Prince2 Project Management, Cloud Development, Quality, Consultative Selling and Presentation Skills.

Apart from the obvious benefits to our customers, this training keeps us up to date with the ever changing industry and better equips our team to deal with challenges in the work place.
