Mallon Technology Attend RSPSoc Annual Conference

Last week, Mallon Technology were in attendance at the Remote Sensing & Photogrammetry Society’s (RSPSoc) Annual Conference, which this year was hosted by the University of Southampton.

This year’s conference brought together the communities of the RSPSoc, Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) and Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation and Space Technology (CEOI–ST) for the very first time. The theme for the conference this year was ‘Earth Observation in the Sentinel Era’.

With launches for two Sentinel satellites and part of the Copernicus programme planned for this year it is an exciting time to be involved in Earth Observation. The conference offered a chance for delegates to learn more about the opportunities, data and products from the Sentinels, demonstrate exciting application ideas and share recent advances in methods to process and analyse these datasets.

The conference this year was extremely well attended with a wide range of talks and workshops available to the delegates covering topics such as Land Cover/Land Use, Improvements to the accuracy of classifications/measurements of RS data and the use of crowd sourcing in remote sensing. A selection of papers from the event are available to view on the conference website.
