In 2010, Mallon Technology were awarded the contract to capture over 2,500 large format building and engineering drawings covering the full stock of Fold Group’s Housing. It also included the scanning and OCR of the 103 asbestos aurvey reports. These reports included text, photos and tables/charts. Each file was scanned to PDF format and then passed through our OCR engine before being delivered on DVD to Fold Group Housing.
Benefits
The scanning and data capture of these drawings and reports allows Fold staff to easily search for and retrieve required documents, copies of which can be reproduced and given to contactors etc., as required. The process also freed up office space and provides a back up of important documents for disaster recovery.
