Kildare County Council

Location: Naas

Date: 2005 - Present

Mallon Technology first worked with Kildare County Council in 2005 in a project that included the provision of data capture, scanning consultancy and related services to Kildare County Council Road Design.  It involved the data capture of all national primary roads in Co Kildare and matching of the road schedule attribute data. The aim of this project was to create a definitive road network for the County Kildare area.

Benefits
The data that we captured along with associated consultancy and training was utilised by Kildare County Council in implementing their Local Area Plans in GIS.

Since then we have undertaken a number of projects for Kildare County Council, firstly to capture all current and historical Unauthorised Development files, then Exempted Development files and finally Architectural Plans.  The information contained in these files was of a very sensitive nature and Mallon Technology were required to agree a confidentiality clause with the County Council prior to the commencement of work.

Benefits
The reason that Kildare County Council embarked on the project was to have a back up of their important documents for disaster recovery purposes.  The new document management system also facilitated ease of access for the council staff and increased the security of the files.
