We then carried out a further project involving the scanning of over 13,800 planning files. The scanned documents are uploaded onto the I-Docs data management system resulting in open internet access for the general public.
Benefits
Creating a digital copy of their planning application gave the council a backup of these important files, freed up office space, gave their staff the power to search for applications at the touch of a button and the ability to retrieve them in a fraction of the time it previously would. Implementing the I-Docs document management system allowed the general public to access files saving staff time in responding to queries.
