Mallon Technology was awarded a contract to assist in the completion of the FIPS (Forest Inventory & Planning System) project, on behalf of River Basin Districts in Ireland in collaboration with Galway County Council. Mallon Technology provided services to assist in data capture of 8,000 forestry contracts.
The role of the processing team was to verify, log and code data according to prescribed standards, and to input data in collaboration with the Forest Service. Part of the process also involved flagging real world changes on the updated colour orthophotography. Manifold provided the main database for capturing Land Unit Numbers. This allowed for analysis and review of work undertaken, helping us to establish new standards and give feedback to ensure accuracy and consistency in reaching our target deadline.
