This project involved the scanning and geo-rectification of Kilkenny Borough Councils’ planning register maps and subsequent data capture of the attribute information relating to the 6,000 planning applications submitted from 1964 to the current day.
Benefits
Creating a digital copy of their planning registers gave the council a backup of these important files and the geographical data capture allowed them to create reports and statistical analysis giving them more information for decision making.
