In 2003 Mallon Technology undertook Dublin City Council’s Public Lighting ‘Starlight’ Project. The project entailed the validation of 45,000 records. Each record was geo-coded so that additional columns could be added showing co-ordinates for each record, resulting in the ability to view the records a map-based system.
Benefits
The system allowed for easy retrieval of information and the geospatial element gave the Council staff access to reports and statistics for better informed decision making.
